Main area

Sussusvlei & Dead Vlei

The journey opens in the Namib, where immense red dunes surround the white clay pan of Dead Vlei. An early start allows time for Sussusvlei, the sculptural trees of Dead Vlei, Big Daddy or Dune 45, and the possibility of a sunrise ballooning excursion.

Swakopmund & Sandwich Harbour

At Swakopmund the Namib meets the Atlantic Ocean. A Sandwich Harbour 4×4 excursion reveals towering dunes falling towards the sea, while a dolphin cruise from Walvis Bay and quad biking on the dunes offer two very different coastal experiences. The Skeleton Coast atmosphere continues north of town.

Twyfelfontein & Damaraland

Twyfelfontein is known for one of Africa’s most important concentrations of ancient rock engravings. The surrounding Damaraland landscape is also home to desert-adapted elephants, which may be encountered on a responsibly guided excursion when conditions allow.

Etosha National Park

Etosha combines productive waterholes with the vast openness of the Etosha Pan. Self-drive game viewing can bring excellent sightings of lions, elephants, giraffe, rhino and plains game, with the route split between the western and eastern sides of the park.
